- Women wanting to understand their fertility health
- Those with a family history of fertility issues
- Individuals planning for future pregnancy
What is a Fertility Assessment?
A fertility assessment is a thorough evaluation of your reproductive health. It helps identify factors that may be affecting your ability to conceive and provides a clear picture of your fertility potential. This assessment forms the foundation of any personalised treatment plan.
What to Expect
During your initial consultation, Dr Kirshenbaum will:
- Review your complete medical history and lifestyle factors
- Discuss your fertility goals, timeline and concerns
- Perform or arrange appropriate investigations
- Explain your results clearly and discuss what they mean for you
Investigations May Include
- Blood tests — Hormone levels including AMH (anti-Müllerian hormone), FSH, LH, oestradiol, thyroid function and others as indicated
- Pelvic ultrasound — Assessment of the uterus, ovaries and antral follicle count
- Semen analysis — Evaluation of sperm count, motility and morphology (for male partners)
- Tubal assessment — When indicated, to check whether the fallopian tubes are open
- Additional testing — Genetic screening, thrombophilia screening or immunological testing as required
After Your Assessment
Once all results are available, Dr Kirshenbaum will schedule a follow-up consultation to:
- Review findings — Explain all results in clear, straightforward terms
- Discuss options — Outline the available pathways based on your individual situation
- Create a plan — Develop a personalised treatment strategy aligned with your goals
- Provide guidance — Offer evidence-based lifestyle and preconception advice
How Long Does It Take?
The initial consultation typically takes 45–60 minutes. Test results are usually available within one to two weeks, after which a follow-up appointment is scheduled to discuss findings and next steps.
Dr Kirshenbaum provides continuity throughout this process, ensuring you have one consistent point of contact who understands your situation fully.
